Who am I? 

Most importantly, I belong body and soul, in life and in death, not to myself but to my faithful Savior Jesus Christ (Heidelberg Catechism, Question 1).

I’ve been joyfully married to the former Linda Rohrer (Lancaster, PA) since July 1, 1978.  We have been blessed with three children.  Philip, whose help was required to set up this blog, is married to Mary Catherine (MC) and is living in Tampa, FL, while working on a Ph.D. in Physical Oceanography at the University of South Florida.  Cara lives in Columbia, SC, where she is completing a Master’s degree in Clinical Counseling at Columbia International University.  Jeni is a Teaching Fellow at Appalachian State University in Boone, NC, and will finish her Music Education degree in 2010.

Since March 1, 1993, it has been my privilege to serve as Pastor of Corinth Reformed Church in Hickory, NC.  Corinth’s heritage is German Reformed, and we are part of the United Church of Christ.  I also serve as President of Faithful and Welcoming Churches of the UCC, and as secretary of the Association for Church Renewal.
